The BIM Profession Outstanding Award Presentation Ceremony 2021 was held by BSI Hong Kong on 1st December 2021 to award the best 100 graduates from our Global BIM Manager Professional Training – a HKCIC accredited course for the CIC Certified BIM Mangers (CCBM). 5 leading speakers in the built environment industry were invited to share their thoughts on the connotation of built environment data and information enabling us to plan, design build and operate the assets more effectively in the industry.
5 leading speakers in the industry shared their thoughts on the connotation of built environment data and information about the future of the industry on achieving digitalization and future to Smart City from their perspectives.
Mr. Michael Lam, Managing Director Assurance, APAC, BSI started the ceremony with how standards being a global best practice approach for building digital infrastructure with BIM for smart communities. Mr. Michael Lam talked about the history and journey of BIM development in BSI. BSI as a National Standards Body is fully supporting the development of smart city strategies and related themes such as BIM and sustainability in the future.
After the speech from Mr. Michael Lam, he presented the outstanding awards to the excellence BIM Managers from the public sector.
Mr. Raymond Kwok, MEP & Innovation Lead, Swire Properties shared the upcoming development of BIM and CDE adoption model of Swire properties after Mr. Michael Lam. He explained the benefits of BIM & CDE model as well as the implementation plan and BIM adoption matrix. He concluded his speech with the BIM application and examples on AR & MR technology.
Mr. Raymond Kwok presented the outstanding awards to the excellence BIM Managers from private sectors.
Mr. James Thompson, Head of Digital, Gammon Construction Limited started his speech by sharing how BIM enabled digital construction from contractor's perspectives. He mentioned how the industry moving from traditional construction towards modern methods, and how Gammon Construction Limited as a contractor leverage digital technologies to create the “Connected Construction Site of the Future”.
Mr. James Thompson presented the outstanding awards to the excellence BIM Managers from the private sectors.
Ir Dr Llewellyn Tang, Founder, LPC Co. Ltd. inspired us with the cultivation of digitalization talent for the next normal in the AECO Industry. Ir Dr Llewellyn Tang talked about the changes in the market characteristics, ways to emerging disruptions, and the future industry dynamics.
Ir Dr Llewellyn Tang presented the outstanding awards to the excellence BIM Managers from the private sectors.
Ms. Ada Fung, BBS, JP, FHKIA, Chairperson of Committee on BIM, Construction Industry Council was in the finale shared with us the open data for a smart city. She mentioned how could we facilitate digital transformation of construction industry through smarter building information management. Ms. Ada Fung also talked about the openBIM concept.
Ms. Ada Fung presented the excellence awards to the distinctive BIM Managers from both public and private sectors.
Finally, Mr. Michael Lam, Managing Director Assurance, APAC, BSI closed the ceremony with short speech about the need for smart cities and communities.
Mr. Michael Lam presented the souvenirs to 4 speakers on behalf of BSI as an expression of our good will.
